Veterans turning their injuries into assets.

Southern California is home to almost half of the 500,000 American veterans who have incurred combat-related injuries since 1990. Visible and invisible combat disabilities are linked to high unemployment, relationship conflicts and personal dysfunction. Since 2001 we've lost almost 7,000 service members to armed conflict. In that same time period we've lost well over 100,000 to suicide. That's about a 15 to 1 ratio.

At best, post-military life for disabled vets can be confusing, lonely and frustrating. Most are reluctant to ask for help. Government services are overwhelmed, box gyms can’t specialize enough, and few wounded veterans can afford knowledgeable personal trainers. The comradery and discipline vets are used to in the military are rare in civilian programs.

Effective healing solutions include physical training that focuses on the special needs of veterans who have experienced intense, life-shaping events in the face of adversity. FrontSight Fitness is the only non-profit gym in Southern California aimed at meeting these very particular needs. Our staff uses a disciplined, team-oriented approach that helps vets meet and overcome the challenges that accompany combat disabilities.

Since loyalty, accountability and shared struggle are an indispensable part of recovery,  these attributes built into FrontSight Fitness. Supportive families and communities are essential too, so relatives and friends are encouraged to sign up along side their vets.

Hebrews 12:11

No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
